Monty Python's Flying Circus

Aired October 5, 1969 - January 11, 1970.

Here they are, the classic, fantastic, surreal thirteen shows that started the whole shebang. The Beeb's new comedy programme, "Monty Python's Flying Circus," won a fanatical set of viewers almost from the start. But then, who couldn't like a show in which sheep fly, lumberjacks wear women's clothes, and an obviously dead parrot can be "just resting"?

To tell the first series apart from the others, just take a look at the embryonic animated titles by Terry Gilliam, and keep your eyes peeled for Michael Palin as the "It's" man. Not hard to miss, as this character does a brief bit at the start of each show.
